FRANCESCA BANCHELLI CV PAINTINGS PERFORMANCES INSTALLATIONS & EXHIBITIONS DRAWINGS VIDEO PUBLICATIONS VIMEO Francesca Banchelli (b. 1981, Italy) STATEMENT Francesca Banchelli’s work focuses on the languages of painting and performance and is often articulated in multifaceted installations. In these complex devices the artist’s interest in the theme of time often emerges as a way of examining the possibilities of narration as a story, a rhythm or a situation that generates movement and which could potentially contain a whole constellation of moments, encounters or events. Banchelli makes use of the concept of time as a mean of finding the balance in the encounter between the self and the world, staging a reconciliation between the individual, the collective and the natural world. BIOGRAPHY Francesca Banchelli (Montevarchi, AR, IT, 1981) graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti of Florence in 2007 and received her Master’s degree in Fine Art from the Central Saint Martins in London in 2010.
