Performance at "Istituto del marmo Pietro Tacca di Carrara"
Niente da vedere tutto da vivere, curated by Lorenzo Bruni, Parallel Event of the XIV Biennial of Sculpture - Post Monument
(eng) The action is is performed within the courtyard of the high-school “Istituto superiore del Marmo P. Tacca” of Carrara (IT) by four students. Two of them hold a lamp, which’s light is addressed towards the public. As the public reaches the performative area, two other students throw fireworks towards them. Investigating the perfect gesture, the performance focuses on the dynamics existing between old and new generations, highlighting the contrast of immaturity, lightness and aggressiveness in youth’s behavior. Focusing on an essential and abstract reconstruction of the complexity of movement, all the marginal perceptions of it are kept in their fragile and immature status of being, making the event unsolved and more visible in the space where it happens.
(ita) L’azione è sviluppata da quattro studenti dell’Istituto superiore del “Marmo P. Tacca di Carrara” e si svolge all’interno del cortile della scuola. Due dei quattro ragazzi sostengono una lampada rivolta verso il pubblico, che salutano mentre questo li raggiunge. Come il pubblico attraversa l'area, altri due studenti cominciano a lanciare petardi verso di loro. Indagando sul gesto perfetto, la performance traccia le dinamiche tra vecchie e nuove generazioni sottolineando il contrasto tra leggerezza, immaturità e aggressività nel comportamento adolescenziale. Attraverso una ricostruzione sintetica e astratta della complessità di movimento, le percezioni marginali di quest'ultimo si mantengono nel loro fragile e immaturo stato di esistenza, togliendo risoluzione all'evento nel momento in cui essi accade.
