Miniatures painted on 35mm slides, slides from archives, projector and cloth.
FLORENZ CONTEMPORARY Italian Embassy in Berlin curated by Angelika Stepken
A dialogue is ignited between three presences that move inside the space creating an irregular path. Moving almost like in a slow dance, two
persons hold/swing a big canvas cloth as a screen on which a slide-show is projected by a third person. It is a long series of painted 35 mm
slides, mixed with photographs of various landscapes belonging to different times, spanning from old archival to nowadays holidays or excursions
around the world. Immerse in the penumbrae, the size of the pictures on the cloth changes depending on the distances between the performers.
The dialogue turns into a system that produces a non-narrative imaginary movie, composed by a systematic rhythm in which each image appears
only a few seconds. The narration conveys towards the each spectator’s personal memories, stories, thoughts. Decomposing the idea and the
body of the cinematographic machine, the performance aims to annihilate passivity, activating the perceptive sides.
